Understanding Your FSH
FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone) is a reproductive hormone from the pituitary gland. It is used to assess fertility and reproductive function in both women and men.
What It Measures
FSH is made by the pituitary gland. In women it helps eggs mature each cycle; in men it supports sperm production. It is often tested alongside LH.
In women, FSH is commonly checked to evaluate fertility or to see whether periods are changing due to perimenopause or menopause.
What Your Results Can Mean
