Annual Check-Ups
An annual check-up is a yearly visit to review your health, catch problems early, and plan ahead, even when you feel perfectly well. It’s one of the best things you can do to stay healthy over time.
What to Expect
Every visit is tailored to you, but most annual check-ups include four parts:
- A review of your health history. We talk through your medical history, current medications, family history, lifestyle, mental health, and any concerns on your mind. This conversation shapes the rest of the visit.
- A physical exam. We check your vital signs (like blood pressure and heart rate) and examine your heart, lungs, abdomen, skin, and more, focusing on what matters for your age and health.
- Screenings and prevention. Based on your age, history, and risk factors, we recommend the right screenings, such as blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, cancer screenings, and immunizations.
- Personalized recommendations. You leave with a clear plan: any labs or vaccines you need, lifestyle guidance, referrals if helpful, and when to follow up.
Why It Matters
Many serious conditions, like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes, develop quietly with no symptoms. A yearly visit is how we catch these early, when they’re easiest to manage, and it’s also a chance to build a relationship with a doctor who knows your history.
