How Our Process Works
- Initial visit to plan your tests. We start with a conversation about your symptoms, medical conditions, and goals. Together we review the available test options and decide which lab orders make sense for you, so you understand exactly what we’re checking and why.
- Get your blood drawn at Quest. You schedule a convenient time with a Quest lab to have your blood drawn. There’s no need to fast or prepare unless we tell you otherwise during your visit.
- Follow-up to review your results. We use the Spruce app to securely share your results and walk you through them. If needed, we can schedule a virtual or an in-person meeting to answer all of your questions.
Two Ways to Pay for Your Labs
You have two options for covering the cost of your blood tests. We’ll talk through which one is right for you at your initial visit.
- Use your insurance. We can include your lab work with the orders we send to Quest, and coverage depends on your specific insurance plan. Keep in mind that some plans may not cover certain labs, so it’s possible you could receive a bill directly from the lab company.
- Pay out of pocket at a discount. If you’d rather not go through insurance, we offer discounted lab prices that we’ve negotiated directly with Quest. Pricing is transparent and shared upfront, so there are no surprises.

You don’t have to figure it out on your own. At your initial visit, Dr. Mui reviews your symptoms and medical history with you and recommends the tests that make the most sense. You’ll understand what each test is for before anything is ordered.
You’ll schedule a time at a Quest lab that’s convenient for you. Once your orders are in place, you can pick a location and appointment time that fits your schedule.
Your results are sent to us directly from Quest. We’ll then set up a follow-up meeting to review them with you, explain what they mean, and discuss any next steps.
It depends on your plan. If you use insurance, we’ll include the labs with your orders, but coverage varies and some plans may not cover certain tests — in which case you could receive a bill from the lab. If you’d prefer to avoid that uncertainty, we also offer discounted cash pricing negotiated with Quest.
We’ve negotiated discounted lab prices directly with Quest for patients who prefer to pay out of pocket. You’ll see the pricing upfront before any tests are ordered, so there are no surprise bills later.
