Understanding Chlamydia & Gonorrhea Testing
This test screens for chlamydia and gonorrhea, two of the most common sexually transmitted infections. Both often have no symptoms and are easily cured with antibiotics.
What It Checks For
Chlamydia and gonorrhea are bacterial infections spread through sexual contact. Many people have no symptoms, which is why screening is important, especially if left untreated they can affect fertility.
The test uses a highly accurate method (called NAAT or TMA) on a urine sample or a swab, depending on the site being tested.
What Your Results Can Mean

| PositiveInfection Detected | One or both infections were found. Both are curable with antibiotics. Recent partners should also be tested and treated to prevent reinfection. |
What’s Most Important to Know
Routine screening is recommended for sexually active people at risk, even without symptoms, because untreated infections can quietly cause complications.
